Rapid Deployment Masts for Mission-Critical Operations
Antenna Experts manufactures the highly versatile PTM series pneumatic telescopic masts, an essential elevation solution for demanding environments. Engineered for military, police, and fire department operations, as well as civilian applications in sports analysis, professional lighting, photography, and advanced communications, these masts deliver uncompromising reliability. Our pneumatic telescopic masts are designed for swift, two-person deployment. Using the included foot pump, a separate stand pump, or a 12-volt compressor, a single operator can achieve full mast extension in under ten minutes.
Each section moves smoothly on Teflon bearings and high-quality, high-strength rubber seals. The masts are equipped with a lock against rotation, and the top section terminates with a large flange to accommodate the installation of various payloads.
Technical Specifications
- Extended Height: 11 meters (36 feet) to 21 meters (70 feet)
- Base Tube Diameters: Ø 101mm, Ø 115mm, and Ø 135mm
- Material: 3mm 6063-T6 Anodized Aluminum Alloy
- Deployment Time: ~10 minutes (Two Operator)
Robust Anodized Aluminum Construction
Built to withstand severe environmental conditions, every Antenna Experts PTM series pneumatic telescopic mast is constructed from 3mm, 6063-T6 ultra-corrosion-resistant, heat-treated architectural aluminum alloy. This premium anodized aluminum finish ensures the mast remains exceptionally robust while being significantly more lightweight than traditional steel alternatives. Available in base tube diameters of Ø101mm, Ø115mm, and Ø135mm, our masts provide stable elevation ranging from 11 meters (36 feet) up to 21 meters (70 feet). Each concentric section features a secure anti-rotation lock and glides smoothly on Teflon bearings and high-strength rubber seals.
Secure Mechanical Locking and Easy Operation
Operating our pneumatic mast is simple and highly efficient, utilizing internal air pressure to extend the mast sections—similar to the reverse action of a bicycle pump. Once a section reaches its full extension, it automatically engages a mechanical lock into the next section. This crucial feature ensures the mast stays firmly erected without requiring continuous air pressure. Operators can also lock the mast at various intermediate heights. Retracting the system is highly controlled; simply pulling the release handle on the lowest extended section allows the upper sections to lower themselves gently. A large top flange accommodates the easy installation of diverse payloads, including heavy-duty communication and EW antennas.
Versatile Mounting Options and Complete Accessory Kits
Antenna Experts ensures your pneumatic telescopic mast is ready for secure installation on any terrain, including building rooftops, solid concrete, or soft and hard soil conditions. Every PTM series mast is supplied with a comprehensive hardware kit, including machine guides, locking collars, guy holders, base plates, clamps, pegs, and stainless steel guy wire tensioners.
We offer specialized mounting configurations to suit your specific deployment:
- Concrete & Roof Installations: Heavy-duty anchor fasteners are recommended for permanent or semi-permanent installations on hard surfaces.
- Field & Soil Installations: Durable spike anchors replace standard fasteners for secure deployment in soft or hard soil conditions.
- HF Antenna Deployments: We offer non-metallic, high-strength guy wires specifically designed for High-Frequency (HF) antenna installations to prevent unwanted RF interference.

Antenna Experts offer its PTM series pneumatic telescopic masts. Typical applications of these masts are for supporting small omni-directional antennas and log periodic antennas. A HF broadband dipole antenna can also be installed by using two similar masts. These masts are made of aluminum tubular section, which can be used for fixed or transportable applications. Their simplicity allows for ease of installation and transportation.
Our PTM series pneumatic telescopic masts and its diverse mounting options are essential pieces of equipment in the fields of sports analysis, lighting, photography and communications in particular, as well as military, police and fire departments. pneumatic telescopic mast are easily deployed in ten minutes by a single person, with the mast itself extended using either the integral hand/foot pump, separate stand pump or a 12 volt compressor.
All our PTM series pneumatic telescopic mast are made of 6063T6 ultra corrosion resistant, heat treated, architectural anodized aluminum alloy and is supplied with anodizing finish to protect it further from severe environmental conditions. Our PTM series pneumatic telescopic masts are suitable for installation on different surfaces like roof-top, concrete, soft/hard soil conditions. PTM series pneumatic telescopic mast are supplied with machine guides, locking collars and guy holders.
Each section of PTM series pneumatic telescopic mast are moves on Teflon bearing and high quality, high strength rubber seals. pneumatic telescopic mast once installed, can stay erected without air pressure. All the accessories like base plate, Spike anchor, foot pump, pegs/foundation bolts, hammer, stainless steel guy wire tensioner and clamps are supplied with pneumatic telescopic mast.
Extending between 11 meters (36 feet) and 21 meters (70 feet) in height, our pneumatic telescopic masts are available in different base tube diameter sizes: Ø101mm, Ø115m and Ø135mm. Each mast is constructed from 3vmm anodized aluminium alloy, which is very robust yet more lightweight than steel.
PTM series masts are made of concentric sections of anodized aluminium, equipped with a lock against rotation. The top section is terminated with a large flange which allows installation of various payloads. The functional principle is the reverse of an air pump for your bicycle: if you put pressurized air into the nozzle of the pump, the handle extends due to the internal pressure.
Foot pump compressor required to extend the mast is included in the pneumatic mast shipment; but you can use any other existing compressor. Other compressor like 12 Volt which can be operated from vehicle battery with battery clip or cigarette lighter plug can also be supplied.
When one section of the mast is fully extended it locks into the next section. This locking ensures that the mast is held extended even when the pressurized air is removed. The mast can even be locked in different heights by not extending all sections. To lower the mast just pull the release handle on the lowest section, the upper section will lower themselves gently. Then pull the handle of the next section in reach, lower this, and so on...
Note #1: The anchor fasters are recommended where the pneumatic telescopic mast is required to install on the roof of the building or on concrete surface. The details of anchor fastener and image of anasterner is available in our technical datasheet which is available in .pdf format.
Note #2: The spike anchors are recommended where the pneumatic telescopic mast is required to install on the soft or hard soil surfaces. These spike anchors will replace the anchor fasteners. The details of spike anchors and image of spike anchor is available in our technical datasheet which is available in .pdf format.
Note #3: The pneumatic telescopic mast can also be supplied with non-metallic high strength guy wires. Normally these non-metallic guy wires are recommended for HF antenna installation. The details of non-metallic guy wire and image of guy wire is available in our technical datasheet which is available in .pdf format.
