Radio Path Survey

Antenna Experts offer its Radio Path Survey engineering services for voice or data radio link. Utilizing a staff of professionals, we will help you to locate a potential site for your wireless system.

Whether you are designing a new network, or re-configuring an existing network, Antenna Experts has the knowledge and experience you demand.

Computer generated path analysis for VHF/UHF and microwave radio links simplifies planning and analysis of new wireless routes.

Field verification of the sites and the path terrain to determine if adequate Fresnel Zone clearance or radio "line of sight" is attainable. An optimum centerline is chosen. The path is profiled using software with the verified site coordinate data from GPS readings and topological maps.

Antenna Experts utilizes the latest in computer modeling technology to evaluate data collected from site surveys. This is a necessary step in reliable wireless system designs. After collecting field data from actual site surveys and associated maps, we then utilize this data in our computer assisted engineering analysis.

This data is used to determine antennas and structure heights, path clearance, projected propagation, path loss and coverage areas of the proposed wireless system.

Consideration of issues such as terrain, natural and manmade obstacles, building and structures are taken into account when choosing a site location.

A basic Path profile consists of:
  • Physical site survey
  • GPS measurements
  • Antenna location
  • Fresnel Zone calculations
  • Path Loss calculation
  • Terrain mapping
  • Type of antenna
  • Gain of antenna
  • Height of antenna
  • Available fade margin
