Antenna Experts provides an extensive portfolio of high-gain Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) antennas, ranging from omni-directional vertical collinear models to specialized directional sector arrays. These systems are engineered for high-quality signal acquisition, offering a variety of gain options including 6 dBi, 9 dBi, and 12 dBi configurations. Whether integrated into a Multilateration (MLAT) system or used alongside IFF and SSR interrogators, these antennas deliver the superb coverage necessary for modern air traffic surveillance and ground station requirements.

Optimized Omni-Directional and Sector Coverage

To meet diverse monitoring needs, the ADS-B lineup includes omni-directional antennas providing full 360° horizontal coverage. For environments requiring more granular data, single-sector or six-sector antenna arrays are available. The six-sector configuration allows operators to monitor the full 360° radius in 60° increments, enabling distributed processing across multiple processors. This specialized arrangement is particularly beneficial for tracking aircraft based on response times and improving signal management in high-traffic corridors.

Directional Precision and Interference Reduction

The directional ADS-B sector antennas are designed to focus RF energy precisely where it is most required, maximizing gain while significantly reducing uncontrolled ground reflections. This optimization results in a superior size-to-performance ratio. By isolating signal reception to specific arcs, these antennas mitigate the "noise" of multipath interference, ensuring that ground stations receive clean, actionable data from transponding aircraft even in complex geographic or urban terrains.

Advanced Material Science and Durability

Constructed from 6063T6 ultra-corrosion-resistant architectural anodized aluminum and high-grade brass, the ADS-B-1090 series is built for permanent outdoor installation. These antennas are encased in ruggedized fiberglass radomes with fully welded junctions to prevent RF inter-modulation. The design specifically addresses environmental challenges such as friction-induced static from wind-blown dust, ensuring the internal phased array remains protected and functional in the most severe environmental conditions.

Strategic Center-Fed Phased Array Design

The ADS-B-1090 collinear antennas feature a center-fed architecture that eliminates radiation pattern distortion, guaranteeing a true omni-directional horizontal profile. The internal structure consists of large-diameter brass radiating elements stacked vertically and fed in phase. This is coupled with a special stub matching technique that ensures a smooth VSWR and constant gain. The relatively narrow bandwidth of these models is a strategic advantage in urban areas, as it helps filter out inter-modulation interference from adjacent high-power signals.

Marine-Grade Protection for Harsh Environments

Specifically designed as marine-variant systems, the RF transmission assemblies are completely sealed and weatherproofed to withstand salt spray, extreme humidity, and heavy ice. The mounting hardware is crafted from marine-grade type 316 stainless steel, providing the highest level of oxidation resistance. These antennas are engineered to maintain peak performance through ice storms and coastal conditions, with all terminations securely enclosed at the bottom of the structure for total weather protection.

Innovative ADS-B Yagi Antenna Engineering

The ADSY-1060-12 Yagi antenna introduces a modern approach to directional signal acquisition with a unique feed design that acts as an internal matching device. This innovation eliminates the need for traditional folded dipoles, resulting in increased efficiency and lower VSWR. The antenna arrives pre-assembled with permanently welded elements on a high-strength support boom, minimizing the surface area to reduce wind resistance and conserve tower loading capacity.

Ruggedized Radome and MIL-Spec Finishing

For maximum survivability, the ADS-B Yagi antenna is housed within a high-strength cylindrical fiberglass radome. This enclosure provides excellent RF transparency while protecting the driven element and feed point in a specialized nylon housing. Factory-tuned and finished in olive green MIL-spec powder coating, the antenna is designed to blend into tactical environments while resisting the effects of UV radiation and mechanical stress. The cylindrical shape further ensures low wind loading and minimizes the impact of ice formation on the antennas operation.

Customized ADS-B Solution to Track Aircraft

Antenna Experts omnidirectional ADS-B Antennas offer full 360° coverage. Our single sector ADS-B antennas are available in case you want to limit your coverage to a certain sector degree. Finally, our six ADS-B sector antennas are available so that you can still monitor 360° but be able to monitor the area 60° at a time or monitor all six ADS-B sectors at the same time with different electronics. The benefit of our six sector antennas is that they allow you to distribute the processing over 6 processors and/or it allows you to track aircraft by monitoring response times to each sector.

The unique design of the yagi antenna feed which works as a matching device to keep the VSWR low resulting in increased efficiency of the yagi antenna. The ADS-B Yagi antenna is completely protected within a high-tech ruggedized radome which is made of high strength fiber glass encosure to ensure survivability in the worst environments conditions. Heavy duty fiber glass enclosure has excellent transparency for RF signals and enough strength to withstand more than specified wind loads.
